Our outdoors boy

This actually happened last weekend but for some reason the blog wouldn't work for me so here we are again. We took Lochie to a local park and he had a lovely time running everywhere and going on the slide and other equipment. That afternoon was really hot so after his sleep we had rainwater in the other side of the sandpit and so we stripped him down and he had a lovely time playing with his toys and tipping water on his head.

Mum and Dad's house is on the way

Well you may or may not know that my Mum and Dad sold their house in Dec 2006 after nearly 25 years there and are currently building a duplex in a over 50's retirement resort here in Bracken Ridge where we live. Mum and Dad both try to get down a few times a week to check on the building process and I finally got there to take a photo of the progress this week. Since I took this photo the brick work is apparently nearly up to the top around the front and the lining on the walls has also gone in. They are hoping to be moving in around April but until then they are living with us during the week while Dad goes to work and living at Ros and Greg's place on the weekends. It's been great having them stay with us, especially with me being nearly 18wks pregnant, having another pair of hands around to help with Lochie is great during the day.

A car just my size

Three of my school friends and myself all had boys within 3mths of each other so we try to get together every few months to catch up and see how the boys are all growing - Lochie is the biggest (tallest) by far, although in fairness he is the oldest of the 4 of them. The beauty of going to each persons place is that the toys are always different so it's very exciting. This time we went to Lani and her little boy Jacob's house and this car was a Christmas gift that Jacob received this year. It was very well used by 3 of the boys on the day with a little of 'no it's not your turn' happening during the time but all in all they shared the car very well. Mind you the way Lochie is growing I don't think he would fit into it next Christmas.

Dr Dolittle in the making?

The other afternoon we were outside playing and we had an unexpected visitor. This little bird cam edown and landed on the top of Lochie's playgym. Lochie went over to see him and he just stayed there and watched Lochie. The bird then flew down and landed on the ground and Lochie ran over and sat down pretty close to the bird and it didn't move or fly away. Lochie and Uncle Steve then tried to feed the bird which was a success although it didn't want the paper Lochie stuck in it's mouth (can't imagine why!). Lochie then was able to touch the bird's tail before it decided it was time to fly away.
