Sunday and another Christmas Event

Ok, so after our busy Saturday, on Sunday afternoon we then headed to the local Salvation Army where the boys and I attend the Mainly Music program every second Wed. We went last year and they put on a great night so we thought we would go again. the boys had a fantastic time. They went in and patted the baby animals they had brought in for the night, went on a hay ride, and went on a jumping castle inside. One of my favourite things was the free fairy floss they were giving away - I haven't had any in ages, and it was free so how could I resist! After our lovely time, we then took a drive around the local area looking at houses that were lit up with Christmas Lights and stopped at another local church that usually wins every year for their Christmas lights as they're so good. A great time was had by all.

Carols in the Park & visiting Santa

Late Saturday afternoon we headed to Carols in the Park being held by Bridgeman Downs Community Church. We were expecting rain & had a bit of a drizzle just after we got there but when the carols started that night the rain held off and the carols were a great success. Lachlan was transfixed all night and wasn't very happy to go home at the end of the night as he just wanted to stay and watch more. Zach did very well and lasted until 8.45pm when we put him in the pram to sleep but just as we did this the fireworks started so he woke up and Nanna held him until they were over and he went back to the pram to sleep. The next day we went to visit Santa at the shops (my Uncle Graeme is being Santa this year so we decided to visit him for a photo). Lochie decided to not be in the photo and we only took the photo with Uncle Graeme's camera so the only photos I have of the visit is the boys in a Bob the Builder ride-on toy at the shops - not very Santalike I know.

Catchup with Friends

Well the Christmas Tree being put up was only the start of a big weekend for us. On Sat morning we headed to my sister Ros's place to catch up with friends The Brown Family & The Meech Family. We have been trying to get together on a regular basis this year and this time it was held at Ros & Greg's place which was great as although it was hot, they have a water tank so they put water in a few plastic shells and the kids had a great time getting wet and then climbing up the fort and going down the slide wet. The wetter they were the faster they went down the slide. Kerri also brought ice-cream & cones for everyone so the kids & adults enjoyed them too - especially Zach who had never had Ice-cream in a cone before. You can see from the photos that he enjoyed it very much and didn't mind being hosed off afterwards either.

Christmas has finally arrived - hooray!

As Jason has been working long hours we haven't had a chance to put up the Christmas tree with the boys. Finally Friday night- a week ago, we put the tree up and decorated the house. Lochie was very excited and was very into 'helping' this year which was great. Zach had already gone to bed so he was very excited when he got up in the morning and saw the tree and tinsel hung up around the house. By the way the tree already looked different as most of the decorations on the bottom are now up the top due to Zach helping himself to the decorations that he could reach.

Sea World (Part 2)

A Day at Seaworld

Every year Jason's work has a Christmas Party for Children of their Employees. Last year was at Dreamworld and this year we headed off to Sea World. We had a great day although until about lunch time when some wind came through the day was very hot. This year Zach enjoyed it so much more as he was able to go on rides and by him going on rides it actually encouraged Lochie to go on more rides as he usually is more hesitant but with Zach going on them he didn't want to be left out. We also managed to see some of the shows including the Dolphin Show & Sesame Show. The underwater viewing of the sharks was also a big hit and Mum & I especially enjoyed it as it was air-conditioned and so we were able to cool down for a while.

Christmas Bus Trip to the City

Last Friday we (My Mum, my sister Ros & her 2 kids Ellen & Olivia) took a bus trip into the city to see the Myer Christmas Windows which are a tradition of Brisbane every year. I remember Mum & Dad taking us in to see them when I was a child so it shows how long it's been going for as I was a child a very long time ago! The kids loved the Bus ride both in and out of the city and even entertained the other passengers on the bus with christmas carols and any other songs they knew on the ride home. Once in the city, we met up with my sister-in-law Tiffany and her 2 kids, Luca & Finn and proceeded to look at the windows. We then headed up to the top of the mall to look at the large christmas tree and then went inside the Myers store to Santa's Workshop. They even had a train on which the kids could have a ride and they all did except Lochie who just wanted to watch the train and Zach who was a bit little to go on. The kids then had a look through the toys as they just happened to be next door to Santa - a strategic move by Myers. We then emailed a letter to Santa and then met up with my other sister-in-law Rachael who works in the city for a quick lunch before heading home so we could get the kids still to have their afternoon sleeps - a strategic move by us Mums.

Kindy Christmas Concert

As well as being Jason's Birthday today it was also Lochlan's Christmas Concert at Kindy. Although he did a lot of practising at home of the songs they were going to sing, on the day he decided that singing in public was not his thing and chose to just watch me the whole time to make sure I didn't leave. This was the most decent photo that I was able to get. Maybe next year...

Happy Birthday Jason!

It was Jason's Birthday today. Last year he did a tandem sky dive to celebrate his 40th but this year it was a bit more low key. After the boys helping him to open his presents he then headed off to work but only worked half a day, then we picked up Lochie from Kindy & headed to Sizzlers for dinner with the rest of the family. I think Zach ate more than anyone but it was considered a tie between him & his cousin Olivia as to who made the most mess.

Mr Independent

In the last week Zach has decided that he's a big boy and quite capable of feeding himself thank you very much, even though a great mess is created through the process. He even gets upset if we just try and hold the bowl still while he's trying to scoop food out with the spoon and proceeds to take our hands of the bowl. Our baby boy is no more.

Jones Family Christmas

Every year we get together with my Mum's side of the family for the Jones Family Christmas. Usually we get together just before Christmas but due to some family members travelling away this Christmas we held it at the end of November. We don't see a lot of each other during the year but when we get together we have a great time. There's nearly 40 of us with all my cousins and us having kids over the past few years and the younger kids are all about the same age and had a ball together. I took a bubble machine with us which was a huge hit, as was my sister Ros and cousins Chelsea & Christie doing some dancing to a Wiggles CD as you will see from the photos.

Hervey Bay (Part 2)

While away Zach had his second time in the water - the last time was back in April so he was very excited. He pretty much ran into the water and you couldn't take the smile off his face as you can see from the photo. The boys enjoyed each others company and we even managed to get a semi decent photo of them together. We also took a lovely walk along the beachfront and the boys enjoyed looking and playing in the rock pools. On Monday we then headed to Maryborough to have lunch with Don, Lisa & the boys before heading home mid afternoon. We can't wait to go back again and maybe have a family holiday together with Don & Lisa.
