Cupcake Heaven

Recently the church my Mum goes to had their Spring Fair and my very clever Aunty Beverley with some other helpers, made some of the most amazing creations I've ever seen. Yes you are correct in what you see - the hamburger is a cupcake - the meat pattie is a chocolate biscuit and the tomatoes, lettuce & cheese were made from icing and the burger bun was a cupcake. The chips were slices of biscuits - I told you she was very clever. There were so many creations that were amazing and I wish I had a photo of all of them to share with you but these are the ones we bought. The other ones on the tray are a sundae cupcake in a cup, a funny face with it's tongue out, a cookie monster from Sesame Street & a soccer cupcake complete with soccer ball and goal with a net - as you can see from the photo with Lochie licking his lips, he couldn't wait to try the soccer one.

Gold Coast Holiday (Part 3)

Movie world was a definite hit with Lochie being able to have a ride where he drove his first 'car' all by himself. Zach also got to have a go driving the dodgem cars although I wouldn't say it was a success but at least he gave it a go. One great thing about the day was also that there wasn't that many people there that day so the boys didn't really have to line up very long for each ride and one ride they went on they pretty much had it all to themselves. The new stunt show was a hit of course - with all four of us.

Gold Coast Holiday (Part 2)

One thing I really loved at Sea World was the stingray pool where you could actually reach down in the water and touch the stingrays as they swam by - most were so soft and one that was more pointed in shape was quite rough to touch. One I was touching kept swimming back an forth as if it liked being touched and wanted more - I could have stayed there a lot longer than we did.

Gold Coast Holiday (Part 1)

Jason recently had 2 weeks off work and we decided to head away for the first week to the Gold Coast. This is the first time we have headed south as we love the sunshine coast but decided we should give the Gold Coast a go. Jason found a great 2 bedroom apartment at Palm Beach and so we headed down in the afternoon on Fathers Day. We had a great week and had awesome weather which made it even better - I would have preferred a heated pool as it was a bit cool for me but the kids didn't seem to mind and enjoyed warming up in the heated spa when they got a bit cold. We were only 5 mins away from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary so we headed there one day and had a great time. I have memories of going there as a child myself and it was great to see it through my own kids eyes. The train that you ride in to get around the park was a hit with the boys and the bird show was a hit with Jason. We had a few days going to the beach and local playgrounds, and also went to Sea World and Movie World. Lochie went on his first 'big' ride at Sea World which was the Flume ride, and then when we went to Movie World he went on his first rollercoaster 'twice', once with Mummy & then with Daddy - I'm so excited as I love rollercoasters and Jason isn't really a fan so I've been hoping at least one of my children would like them too so I'll have someone to go on with me in thr future - maybe in a year or so Zach will like them too - he wanted to go on now but he's too little. Another highlight for the boys was the planes that flew very close to our building where we stayed as they flew in to land at the nearby Cooloongatta Airport, and also the diggers that were working down on the sand only a short walk away - especially when the digger driver waved at the boys when he drove by.
