Me a Rev Head - Yes I am!!!!!!

My Dad works for Supercheap Auto, and they (for those who aren't aware) have 2 cars in the V8 Supercars. Today they held a day for all employees of Supercheap and 4 guests of their choice to go and see their racing headquarters. There was no way that I was going to miss out as I have been a V8 fan from way back and would sit for hours watching races with dad on the weekends when I was single and of course before kids. We thought Lochie would also be of an age to enjoy it so we headed off as a family as Dad's guests and My Mum came too. We had an awesome day and it was really well run. We got to have a tour through all the different areas of the workshop where they make and test the engines and cars, and then they provided lunch and we also got the opportunity to buy a ride with Russell Ingall or his team mate Tim (can't remember his last name sorry) at half price. Did we - of course we did - well Dad and I did - Lochie wanted a ride but he had to be 10 years old so he's waiting longingly until that day comes. The ride was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Best part of the day. The boys can't stop looking at the photos and video we took with the camera. Bring on next year!

My baby's now officially a little boy!

Well last Friday Zach turned 2. I can't believe it. 2 years since I held a tiny baby in my arms. The first year seemed to go so fast but this second year seemed to go even faster. He had a great day. We had a fairly quiet day on his birthday with just a morning tea with Nanna and Grandad and playing with his new toys that he received from us, Nanna & Grandad and also our wonderful family all the way over in Germany - Lochie was very excited that Zach recieved a parcel in the post like he did for his Birthday and of course was very helpful in 'helping' him open it and work out how to play with the new race car they sent - thank you Peter, Heidrun, Lara & Hendrik - he loves your very generous gift. Jason was able to leave work early which was a lovely surprise so we got to eat dinner together as a family and have a bit more play with the new toys. We then had a family morning tea with my and Jason's family on Saturday and my Mum and I made Zach a Humpty Dumpty cake to celebrate. Zach thought it was great so that's all that matters and everyone else seemed to like it too. Zach's turning into such a sweet, caring, adventurous, cheeky little boy and I can't wait to see what this next year brings.

Drawing Boy

Of late Lochie has taken an interest in doing drawings again and you can really see his development in his drawing skills as his trucks actually look like trucks now and if you draw something he tries really hard to copy what you drew (actually not my drawings as I'm a shocking artist and can't really draw anything). I got out chalk board out again the other day and the boys have had a lovely time drawing on it again so I thought I would show you some of Lochie's drawings -Zach's drawing is on the righthand side of the board. Lochie has drawn a number of trucks and he also drew a digger half way down if you can pick it out and also a bobcat digger on a truck which is the bottom drawing on the board.

Fun at the Park

Over the School Holidays we were lucky enough to have a 2 day visit from my sister Ros and her 2 girls Ellen & Olivia. We had great weather while they were here so we made the most of it and headed to a fairly new park near our place which the kids all loved. The 4 cousins had a ball playing we each other and having a picnic for morning tea. It was great for Ros, my Mum and I to catch up for a chat too while the kids were playing - we always love a chat!

Brothers Together

It's been lovely over the past few months as Zach's physical & speech development has improved and he has been able to keep up with Lochie more in what he's been playing with. Yes - Lochie does get frustrated with his younger brother at times and we have the usual brotherly fights but we have also had times when they have both played well together and enjoyed each other's company. My sister and I have a great friendship now that we are adults even though we are very different people and I hope for the same for my boys as they grow and share their lives together.

The Sweetest Moments

As a Parent there are those moments that we experience with our children that we just want to capture in time and hold on to them forever, and today one of those happened so to capture it, I thought I would write on the Blog about it. We of course tell our boys that we love them many times each day and Lochie says it back and up until now Zach has just given us lots of kisses and cuddles. His speech has been improving each week "What's that called?" has been his latest accomplishment and he has used this sentence many, many times! Anyway, tonight while we were having dinner the following conversation happened:

Zach (sitting next to me and leaned over): "Mummy"

Me: "Yes Zach"

Zach: "I Love You"

Me: (My heart nearly exploding with love) "I Love You Too"

What a moment - I'm glad I got to share it with you.
