Fathers Day

Fathers Day was a pretty full day for us as we not only celebrated the meaning of the day but we also packed up and headed off on our family holiday to the Gold Coast for 5 nights. We decided to start the day with a Barbeque breakfast down at the Shorncliffe waterfront so after a very quick present opening session for Jason from the boys and a secret present from me, we got dressed and headed down to the waterfront to meet up with my Mum and Dad (Nanna & Grandad) and my brother Steve for a hot breakfast. The boys had a quick play in the sand and then we headed home to pack and head off on our holiday - more to come about this in my next blog.

Jason with the surprise gift I got him - a canvas print of him and the boys walking down to the water at Shorncliffe Beach a few months ago - my lovely sister gave me this idea and I'm very grateful as Jason was thrilled and I was really happy with how it turned out.

Grandad very happy about one of the presents he received - a Black and White photo of him and the two boys watching a digger work at the end of our street a week earlier - My Mum's words later were that Dad was 'really chuffed' with the picture so both photos given on the day went down well.

Kindy Sports Day/Mini Fete

Last Sunday Lochie's Kindy had their annual Sports Day/Mini Fete. The Day starts with some races which include the egg and spoon race and zig zag bean bag race - Lochie did really well and participated in 3 of the races and got 3 ribbons - the kids had made the ribbons at Kindy in the weeks leading up to the day. He was so proud of himself and we are so proud of him for just participating - it was great to see him running with a smile on his face in each race. After the sports component of the day was finished we all headed back to the Kindy grounds to get the Mini Fete underway. Again the kids had a ball with the jumping castle, sausage sizzle, bowling game, a visit by a police car and fire engine and other activities they had going. We then headed home - all very tired, but all having had a great day.

Boy time

My Dad (Grandad) has always been so great since the boys were very little in taking the time to show them any machines such as trucks, diggers, tractors etc. and is happy to sit or stand with them watching which ever particular machine it is working at the time. We have been lucky enough to have 2 houses built recently around the corner from us so we have seen many 'machines' over the past year or so. Last weekend there was a digger smoothing out the front yard on one of the houses so of course the boys were champing at the bit to go and watch - Grandad to the rescue! Nanna and Grandad turned up for dinner so Grandad walked the boys down to the corner to watch up close what was happening.

Recent Adventures

The boys can be very creative in their play and this particular night Lochie decided that the toy bike needed a bit of work so he got it up on the coffee table and with his toys and of course safety goggles on - he very earnestly 'fixed' the bike. Zach of course wasn't far from the action and enjoyed sitting nearby to watch what Lochie was doing.

I bought a cheap pair of kids sunglasses for Lochie lately as I decided to again, get him to wear them more to protect his eyes when we're out in the sun. This particular day we had gone to Scarborough at Redcliffe for the morning and had a play on the playground and had bought some yummy fish and chips for lunch.
