We had a portrait done of Zach at one of those kids portrait places and this was the result. The rest of the photos were awesome but we just got this one as we couldn't justify having heaps of Zach and not of Lochie. Zach was very happy to sit and smile for the lady but Lochie at the same age wouldn't smile for anyone but us so needless to say his is a very serious photo. Such different kids at even this age but both are cheeky that's for sure.

Birthday Boy!

Well Jason and I can't believe it but today our baby boy Lachlan has turned 3. He had a wonderful day opening all his presents and playing with them one by one, especially the big dump truck and digger he got from Nanna & Grandad that you can see in the photo - a huge hit for our little man that loves all things trucks and diggers. It even came with a 30min DVD on all kinds of big machines including diggers and dump trucks. We've watched the DVD twice so far and he gives you a running commentary each time. Mum also helped me to make a digger cake that he saw in a Birthday Cake book I bought. I've been stressing about making this cake all week (I've even dreamt about it, how pathetic is that). Anyway we were pretty happy with how it turned out and Lochie just loved it and kept going over and looking at it and saying "That's my Birthday cake". He doesn't like cake though and so didn't eat any of it but enjoyed playing with the toys on the cake after I had washed the cake off them. We had a small afternoon tea with just family and then had fish and chips for dinner but unfortunately Lochie's health went down hill late afternoon and he didn't eat much which means he must be unwell as fish and chips are one of his favourite meals. I asked him before he went to bed what was the best part of the day and he said my birthday cake - ah don't you love it when they said the right things.
Today is also Jason and my 5th Wedding Anniversary. Obviously we don't get to celebrate it much with it also being Lochie's Birthday but we're hoping to go out to dinner sometime this week. Oh and with it being Mothers Day tomorrow it's a busy time - Happy Mothers Day to all Mums reading this.

Our Family Holiday to Caloundra

Well Jason has had 2 weeks off work so for the first week we headed off to Gemini Units, at Golden Beach, Caloundra. We usually stay somewhere at Kings Beach but decided to have a change. What an awesome week we had. The weather was fantastic and we were able to get in the pool as they keep it heated. The unit was very roomy and we had enough rooms to give the boys their own rooms when it was just us and enough beds for when we had people come and stay overnight (mu mum and dad stayed one night and my sister and her family stayed one night also - Jason's sister and her family also came up just for the day). We had a very relaxing time spending time in the pool and going for walks to the playgrounds just down the road from our units. We also ventured off to Underwater world and both boys enjoyed watching the sharks, stingrays etc in the underwater tunnel. Lochie was a bit hesitant the first time we went into the moving tunnel but then we couldn't get him off it after his third time. We had a quiet time at home the second week of Jason's holidays and he heads back to work this Wed - the boys and I will sure miss him.
Mister Cheeky

I realised that although I had written about Zach crawling I hadn't actually put a photo on the Blog about it so here one is. I should also mention that after I wrote that he was crawling on the Blog he didn't properly crawl until Easter Monday when he started crawling up on all fours (no crawling for this little man). He must have known that I was writing about him. The other photo is just a cheeky one of him showing what a happy little chappy he is.
