Hervey Bay (Part 2)

While away Zach had his second time in the water - the last time was back in April so he was very excited. He pretty much ran into the water and you couldn't take the smile off his face as you can see from the photo. The boys enjoyed each others company and we even managed to get a semi decent photo of them together. We also took a lovely walk along the beachfront and the boys enjoyed looking and playing in the rock pools. On Monday we then headed to Maryborough to have lunch with Don, Lisa & the boys before heading home mid afternoon. We can't wait to go back again and maybe have a family holiday together with Don & Lisa.

Trip to Hervey Bay

Well Jason was able to get a weekend off work so we decided to head off up north to Hervey Bay to visit with friends Don, Lisa & their sons Ryan & new baby son Nathan. We had an awesome time & mostly great weather and enjoyed just getting away & spending time as a family. We stayed at the Great Sandy Straits Breakfree Resort right at the Marina and had a great spot right next to where the boats come in & out of the Marina. We were also very lucky to see 2 Dolphins (we think they were a mother and baby) as we were having breakfast one day. They seemed to be staying in one spot and so we thought they might of been having breakfast also.

Family Afternoon Together

Jason has been working long hours and 6 days a week recently so on Wed he got half a day off to spend with us. We were hoping to head up the coast to the beach but the weather wasn't great and quite rainy so while I staying home with Zach while he had a sleep, Jason took Lochie for a 'special Daddy time' lunch to McDonalds. When Zach woke up we then headed to a Indoor Play Centre that has recently reopened near us. As we were there in the afternoon the place was pretty empty and we had a great time running around all the different play equipment. I do mean we, not just the boys as the place is so big and with Zach liking to climb we had to get on the play equipment too to follow him around - Jason and I were quite tired after we left that's for sure. Here are a few photos of our afternoon together.

Our Little Independent Man

Zach is now 16mths and seems to be growing up so fast every day. I just thought I would share some recent things he's been up to. Besides climbing everything and anything - I even have put our big slide on its side in the backyard so he doesn't climb it by himself when he goes into the back yard and fall into the steel posts of our swing set. Lochie was never a climber so this is all new to me - he's really into books at the moment and sometimes when it's gone quiet and I've gone looking for him he's sitting on the pillows next to the bookcase in the playroom reading books by himself. He's actually been so ingrossed in them at times that when I've spoken to him he's actually jumped a bit.

He's also started taking an interest in the chalkboard and is trying to keep up with his brother's drawing efforts.

As well as enjoying books he also likes being a big boy and sitting on chairs like we do while he does things like reading books. Our little baby is turning into a big boy.

Birthday = Family Get Together

Whenever someone in the family has a Birthday we see it as a good reason to get together as a family to catch up and celebrate the special day. This occasion was my brother Steve's Birthday and we had a BBQ to celebrate with Lemon Meringue to finish off the meal and double as the Birthday Cake. As you can see from the photo Steve was happy with his Birthday celebration.
