& of course Nanna to Word Bookstore to have a special morning tea for her. They have a great playgroung there so the kids had a great time climbing the playground - we love any place that supply a playground for the kids. Nanna, Ros & the girls then stayed for lunch and a sleep. We then dropped Nanna home and headed down to a local park where the kids showed us their amazing climbing skills by climbing the spiders web which you can see the photo. Aunty Ros was very patient and helpful when they got stuck going up and down. We then headed home for dinner & bath before Ros & the girls headed home. We then celebrated Nanna's Birthday again with the whole family on Saturday night by having Fish & Chips and then a special Pavlova Birthday Cake. Nanna didn't even get to blow out her own candles as she had 3 willing helpers in Lochie, Ellen & Olivia who beat her to it. I'm sure Zach will be a helper next year too.
Usually after Christmas I buy my wrapping paper for the next Christmas as it's usually cheaper. After we got home from the shops with the new paper, without my knowledge Lochie took off with one of the new roles of paper to do some 'wrapping'. The photo is the result - yep 6 metres of paper - thank goodness it was on special. I managed to salvage it at the end and some people with just get presents next year with very crinkled paper.
Lochie & Zach were lucky enough
to have a ride with their Uncle Sean on his ride on mower on Christmas day. The other photos are of Lochie playing with his workbench that he received from my sister Roslyn & family, and the boys looking at their new Train Table that they received from Santa. Jason & my Dad spent Boxing Day putting it together and did a great job. Mind you Zach has found pretty much every piece that they didn't glue down. They boys love the Train Table so Santa definitely got it right this Christmas.
Well finally I'm getting around to Blogging about our Christmas Day. We had an awesome day and of course we were all very spoilt with presents and ate too much. We started the day having breakfast with my side of the family at our house. We did this last year and found it worked well as 1) we get food into the kids before they open presents and get too excited to eat (very strategic on our part I think) and 2) the kids are too tired by the end of the day so having a breakfast and then lunch somewhere else works well. After breakfast and opening presents, we then headed off to Jason's side of the family for lunch. This year it was at his sister Tiffany's house near Ipswich (which is about 50mins away for you overseas readers). We had a lovely cold lunch and stayed in the airconditioning as much as we could. We then stayed on for the rest of the afternoon after Jason's Mum, sister Rachael & her partner Aaron left and had a light dinner before bathing the boys and heading home. A great day was had by all.
