Bathtime at the Eigels

Zachie loves his bath and this night I fluffed his hair up while it was wet and it looked very cute so we got the camera out and these photos are the result.

Brothers together

We've been having 2 houses built on our street - one is finished and the other is still under construction. This has been pure delight to in particular Lochlan who has a love of all things involved in construction - especially diggers, bobcats, concrete trucks etc. As we live in a culdersac the trucks always have to come to our end of the street to turn around. Lochie will stay glued to the window or door and watch the truck etc until they are out of sight and usually pleads for me to take him outside to see more which we sometimes do also. I have watched many diggers and trucks in action over the past 12mths. Zach loves doing anything that Lochie loves doing and of course has now taken an interest in diggers and trucks too. This photo was taken while they were watching a forklift truck unloading more supplies for the house that's being built. I love how both their heads are leaning to the left as their watching the forklift truck moving around.

Cooking a cake

I have memories from when I was little of watching my Mum cook a cake and her giving me the bowl to lick after the the mixture was in the oven. Lochie doesn't really like sweets - actually by choice he doesn't eat any cakes, sweets or chocolate so he's never been interested in licking the bowl but is very keen to help with the preparation of the mixture. Zach on the other hand as I've said before will try anything so recently enjoyed licking the bowl while making a cake for their Nanny's (Jason's mum) Birthday. Lochie's also very good at keeping an eye on the oven to check if the cake is ready.

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere!

For Zach's Birthday Party this year I bought a bubble machine to keep the kids amused. It was a big success and every now and then we get the machine out again and let the kids have fun trying to pop the bubbles. My sister Ros and her 2 girls were over recently so we got it out and here are the results - pretty impressive amount of bubbles considering the size of the machine.

Dinnertime at the Eigels

I wish I could say that every dinner time was like this but these happy faces on the boys were due to the fact that we had one of Lochie's favourite dinners - good old fish and chips. As you can see from the photo he's pretty happy about it - he's usually the quietest ever at dinner time when we have fish and chips. Zach's just happy to pretty much eat anything - this photo was resulting from him munching on half a cucumber that was leftover from dinner - he's an easy boy to please.

Photos of our boys together - finally!

From time to time I have people ask if I have any recent photos of our boys together. I usually say no as either one or the other aren't cooperating at the time so the other night we were lucky enough for both boys to be happy for about 30sec to sit together. I said - "quick Jason, grab the camera" - and the results were the 3 photos posted here. Enjoy them as I don't know how long it will be until we get more of them.

An afternoon at Redcliffe

The other Sunday afternoon we headed down to Redcliffe to have a walk on their pier. It was the first time we have let Zach out of the pram to walk and maybe the last time for a while as he was so excited that he really didn't walk far - he just wanted to go to side railing and look at the water. The second photo is just before Jason tried to get Zach away from the railing so we could walk further down the pier. He's so strong and wouldn't let go and thought the railing was going to give way before he did. Needless to say he wasn't impressed that he was moved on. We decided to carry him the rest of the way otherwise we would still be there now. Lochie was with us but didn't want to be in a photo if you were wondering where he was.

Naming Ceremony for Alex

I'm a bit behind with my blogging so to catch up on what we've been up to for the last few weeks I'm starting with Alex's Naming Ceremony. Alex is the very cute son of our friends Debbie and Jason. We had a lovely day and all children present were also well behaved so it made for a fairly enjoyable day for all us parents as well.
